Meet Marc

Founder, Northern River Consulting

Marc didn't learn hospitality in a classroom. He learned it on the floor of some of the most demanding properties in Europe and the United States. Five-star hotel operations, high-volume restaurants, luxury venues where the margin for error is zero and the standard for excellence is non-negotiable.

Over more than two decades, he worked across every level of the industry. Front of house, the kitchen, F&B direction, hotel management, operations. From the mountain resorts of Val d'Isère and the glamour of the French Riviera, to the Atlantic coast of Biarritz, then New York and Connecticut. Each environment sharpened a different edge.

What he noticed along the way was always the same. The difference between a good operation and a great one is rarely one big thing. It's a hundred small things, done right, every single time.

That's what Northern River Consulting is built on.

Marc founded the company because he believes this industry deserves better than generic advice and recycled frameworks. Real hospitality consulting comes from someone who has stood where you stand. Who has managed a full dining room at capacity, navigated a difficult service, and understood that a guest's experience lives or dies in the details most people walk past.

He consults because he genuinely loves this work. The different cultures, the travel, the chance to walk into a business anywhere in the world and help it become something its owners are proud of. That's not a job description. That's a reason to get on a plane.
